What does a design cover?
A design is the appearance of all or part of a product, the characteristics of the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture or materials of the product itself or its decorative elements.
For your industrial design to be protected as industrial property, it has to be new or singular somehow.
How long does design protection last?
In Spain registration is good for five years counting from the date when you file your application. You can renew registration for one or more consecutive five-year periods, up to a maximum of twenty-five years. You can include several designs and models in the same application.
